TCPv4 "Connections Active" keep increasing steadily
We have been monitoring our website through some heavy traffic the past few days. The web server (Windows 2008 r2) is reporting an abnormally high amount of "Anonymous User" connections.
I have noticed through performance monitoring that the "TCPv4 Connections Active" just keeps on rising and never drops. We are currently up to 400,420 Connections Active. 14 hours earlier we were at 272,076.
Is this normal? If not, what steps do I take next to address this?
Any help appreciated.Shane

Hi Shane,
Thanks for posting here.
So have you allowed the anonymous user to connect to the web service on this server ?According the current information it is hard to determine if the web service is
health or not but I ‘d suggest to get better and more professional responses form official IIS forum by posting this question to there if we are using IIS as web service software on server side:

Meanwhile, we may refer to the Performance Tuning Guidelines below to optimize the performance for server , epically for Web Service:

Thanks.
